Job Description

Mission and objectives

Rescue Mission for Street Life is a child protection organisation in Uganda, East Africa. We work with children in fragile settings - slums, street and refugee settings. Our goal is to rescue, rehabilitate and transition these children into safety, health, family, education and livelihood. Over the years, we have supported 1500 children, and our model is play-based and caregiver-engaging.

Context

Rescue Mission for Street Life is a child protection organisation based in Uganda, East Africa. We work with children in fragile settings including street situations, informal settlements, and refugee communities. Our programmes help children recover from trauma and transition into safety, education, family stability, and livelihood opportunities. Because the organisation works directly with vulnerable children and caregivers, clear safeguarding and governance policies are essential. These policies guide how staff and volunteers interact with children and ensure that organisational practices reflect strong child protection standards. The online volunteer will support the review and organisation of existing policy documents, including safeguarding and related governance materials. The assignment will contribute to improving the clarity, structure, and accessibility of these documents for internal use.

Task Description

Support the review and improvement of organisational policy documents related to safeguarding and organisational governance. The volunteer will assist in reviewing existing policies, improving clarity and structure, and helping organise documents so they are easier to use for staff and volunteers. The assignment focuses on strengthening documentation and accessibility of key organisational policies.
