Description
This role assists with strategic direction, policy oversight, and operational governance for AI systems — including generative AI, machine learning models, automated decision systems, and emerging intelligent technologies. • Establish AI principles, policies, and standards (ethical AI, explainability, bias mitigation, transparency, human oversight). • Align AI governance with Data Governance, Information Governance. • Participate in established review or AI ethics committees/working groups as needed. • Translate regulatory requirements into actionable enterprise controls as needed. • Prepare executive and board-level reporting on AI governance posture. • Use case intake and risk classification • Work with peers on data sourcing and quality validation • Ongoing monitoring and retirement • Define acceptable use policies. • Provide advisory support to business units developing AI solutions. • Serve as a visible thought leader on responsible AI practices. • Develop executive dashboards and reporting mechanisms. • Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and psychological safety.
Selection Criteria
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in either AI, data governance, model risk, compliance, technology risk, or related domain. • Deep understanding of AI/ML lifecycle and generative AI risks. • Ability to balance risk mitigation with innovation enablement. • Professional certifications (e.g., Safe Agile, Data Governance / Information Management, PMP, AI governance certifications). • Ethical decision-maker • Risk-based judgment • Influence without authority • Calm leadership during ambiguity
