Mission and objectives

The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS) is a Thai government body responsible for the oversight of social development and human security, promoting justice, and ensuring equality within society. It plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life and stability for families and communities. This ministry serves as a governmental body and social mechanism to achieve the government's policies, particularly for vulnerable groups such as children, youth, women, persons with disabilities, and the elderly. Its mission is to ensure the well-being and protection of the rights of all citizens, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand (B.E. 2540). It strives to integrate concepts, directions, and management systems across all sectors and levels of society. Context

In December 2023, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Resolution A/RES/78/127, proclaiming 2026 as the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development (IVY 2026). In recognition of its global mandate to promote volunteerism, the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) was invited to lead and coordinate the implementation of IVY 2026. The resolution was co-sponsored by 54 Member States, affirming the vital role that volunteers play in achieving sustainable development. Every day, millions of people around the world take action – big and small – to make life better for others and for their communities. Whether it’s mentoring youth, supporting local health efforts, or responding to emergencies, volunteers drive meaningful change in communities. Through their actions, volunteerism becomes a force for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals - connecting people, strengthening resilience, and creating lasting impact. In partnership with the Thailand Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS), and Traffy Fondue by National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), UN Volunteers invites you to celebrate and recognize the incredible contributions of volunteers everywhere. It’s a moment to raise awareness, spark conversations, and inspire even more people to get involved. เมื่อเดือนธันวาคม พ.ศ. 2566 ที่ประชุมสมัชชาใหญ่แห่งสหประชาชาติได้มีมติ นโยบาย A/RES/78/127 ประกาศให้ปี พ.ศ. 2569 เป็นปีอาสาสมัครสากลเพื่อการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน (IVY 2026) ตามพันธกิจระดับโลกด้านการส่งเสริมงานอาสาสมัคร โครงการอาสาสมัครสหประชาชาติ (UNV) ได้รับมอบหมายให้เป็นผู้นำและประสานงานการดำเนินงานของ IVY 2026 โดยมติดังกล่าวได้รับการสนับสนุนจาก54 ประเทศสมาชิก ซึ่งเน้นย้ำถึงบทบาทสำคัญของอาสาสมัครในการบรรลุการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน ในทุกวัน มีผู้คนนับล้านทั่วโลกลงมือทำสิ่งต่าง ๆ เพื่อทำให้ชีวิตของคนในสังคมและชุมชนดีขึ้น ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการสนับสนุนgยาวชน การดำเนินงานสนับสนุนโครงการด้านสุขภาพในท้องถิ่น หรือช่วยเหลือในภาวะฉุกเฉิน อาสาสมัครคือผู้ขับเคลื่อนการเปลี่ยนแปลงที่มีความหมายผ่านการลงมือทำ งานอาสาสมัครกลายเป็นพลังสำคัญในการขับเคลื่อนเป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน เชื่อมโยงผู้คน และสร้างผลกระทบเชิงบวกในระยะยาวให้กับสังคม ภายใต้ความร่วมมือกับกระทรวงการพัฒนาสังคมและความมั่นคงของมนุษย์ (พม.) และ Traffy Fondue โดยสำนักงานพัฒนาวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีแห่งชาติ (สวทช.) องค์การอาสาสมัครสหประชาชาติขอเชิญชวนทุกท่านร่วมเฉลิมฉลองและยกย่องผลงานของอาสาสมัครทั่วโลก ปีแห่งอาสาสมัครนับเป็นช่วงเวลาสำคัญในการสร้างการรับรู้ จุดประกายการสนทนาพูดคุย และสร้างแรงบันดาลใจให้ผู้คนจำนวนมากได้เข้ามามีส่วนร่วมในงานอาสาสมัครในทุกระดับและภูมิภาค

Task Description

Under the guidance of the Office of the National Commission on Social Welfare Promotion (Ministry of Social Development and Human Security Thailand) and United Nations Volunteers, Online Volunteers (OVs) will support the national outreach efforts for International Year of the Volunteer (IVY) 2026 by raising public awareness of the Department of Social Development and Welfare (DSDW) Platform which enables individuals to register as a formal volunteer in Thailand, report and document volunteering activities across Thailand. Online Volunteers will socialize the website to peers, encourage others to register as volunteers, and expand the reach of IVY 2026 messages through peer-to-peer digital engagement on social media by following tasks: • Share approved campaign materials (graphics, flyers, videos, captions, and key messages) on their personal social media platforms to promote IVY 2026 and the DSDW Platform. • Encourage peers, networks, and organizations to submit volunteering activities via LINE or the Google Form • Expected posting frequency: approximately 2-3 posts per week • Track and report basic engagement metrics (likes, shares, comments, clicks where available) on a weekly basis using a shared Google Sheet • Follow all posting, reporting, and branding guidance provided • Participate in a mandatory online orientation session at the start of their assignment led by the Office of the National Commission on Social Welfare Promotion and UNV All campaign materials, posting templates, visual assets, guidance notes, and reporting tools will be provided by UNV and Office of the National Commission on Social Welfare Promotion. .
