JOB CONTEXT:
Since January 2024, HI has been responding to Sudan’s crisis. HI’s joint multisectorial response in Gedaref State, implemented with a Sudanese partner NGO, is already providing physical and functional rehabilitation services in healthcare centers and at community level, as well as MHPSS services, including individual and group counselling. HI is further engaged at the humanitarian coordination level to mainstream disability inclusion throughout the humanitarian response.
HI is scaling up its response from both geographic and modalities/sectorial perspectives. In particular, HI has deployed emergency response teams in Darfur, to setup its operations and initiate its response in the western parts of Sudan. HI team is present in Darfur since December 2024, implementing inclusive humanitarian action, and basic needs activities (WASH and Food security).
Following the fall of El Fasher on October 2025 and the Exploratory Mission conducted during the period of time, HI is setting up a base and launching some operations in Emergency Physical Rehabilitation and Shared Operational Logistics via Atlas Logistique cell. The advertised vacancy is to be part of the team replacing the Opening Flying Team.
YOUR MISSION:
Under the management of Darfur Area Manager, you are responsible for ensuring that the finance and human resources management are consistent with HI’s policies and standards and with local regulations. You advise managers in your geographical area on all the HR and processes they roll out and you are responsible for the financial steering and operational financial management and also maintaining the social environment in the area. You will also support the local implementing partner in the financial and human resources aspects.

- Finalize the reporting of the previous CDCS grant
- Continue the development and relationship with local partner
- Contribute to the fundraising effort
- Opening potential new project
- Recruit and support the local team
Your main responsibilities are the following:
1: Management of future staffs
2: Operational implementation of HR
- Oversee the dimensioning and quality of Programs resources
- Oversee the area’s Career Management and Skills Development systems
- Coordinate and guarantee the quality of the Program’s administrative management for all members of staff.
- Assist managers on the implementation of HI's HR policies:
3: Operational implementation Finance
- Ensure financial and budget management
- Ensure accounts management
- Ensure the financial management of institutional funding in compliance with “donor” guidelines and contractual obligations
- Ensure cash-flow management
4 : Emergency preparedness and response
Requirements
· You have proven experience of at least 4 years in a coordination position, in Finance and HR
· You have experience of mission in remote field area + preferable experience in an African context
· Interpersonal qualities: patient, team player, rigorous, systematic
· Proficiency in professional English
