Objective of the Assignment

IFC seeks to hire a Team Assistant (E T Temporary) to support operations in Botswana and Lesotho. The Team Assistant will work under the guidance of the Senior Country Officer to strengthen IFC’s coordination, operational efficiency, stakeholder outreach, and country engagement processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

The consultant will be responsible for supporting IFC in a variety of administrative, analytical, and coordination tasks, including but not limited to:

a) Stakeholder Mapping and Outreach
• Develop a comprehensive, sector-wise contact database covering private sector entities, government institutions, business associations, financial institutions, and development partners.
• Support outreach and engagement efforts, including scheduling meetings and preparing briefing materials.
b) Coordination with the World Bank Team
• Collaborate closely with the World Bank country team to ensure coherent and aligned engagement with clients and government stakeholders.
• Support joint missions, events, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
c) Support to the Senior Country Officer
• Provide day-to-day operational and logistical support.
• Help prepare meeting notes, presentations, and internal briefs.
d) Operational and Administrative Support
• Support the organization of events, workshops, conferences, and internal/external meetings.
• Draft correspondence, reports, and materials as required.
• Handle general administration, travel coordination, and documentation as needed.
e) Research and Knowledge Management
• Maintain proper filing and knowledge management systems for the office.
• Identify relevant news, trends, and policy developments of interest to IFC’s operations in Botswana and Lesotho.

Selection Criteria

Preference will be given to local talent, that is, applicants that are authorized to work in the duty station for any employer. Internal applicants may apply per existing guidelines.

a) Educational Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. 
b) Required Skills and Experience
• Minimum two years of work experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, and professional documents.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Prior experience working with development institutions, government entities, or private sector organizations is highly desirable.
