The Office of Special Missions (OSM) leads sensitive, high-impact deployments in complex environments to support the Organisation’s mandate under the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC).
The Senior Administrative Assistant (GS-6) works as a part of the Office of Special Missions (OSM) under the direct supervision of the Director of the Office of Special Missions (D/OSM). The Senior Administrative Assistant provides administrative and logistic support to the D/OSM and supports the work of the OSM with administrative matters.
The Hague is the duty station of this post.
Under the direct supervision of the Director of the Office of Special Missions (D/OSM), the incumbent performs the following duties and responsibilities:
Arranging the D/OSM schedule of appointments and meetings:
Managing the workflow of incoming and outgoing correspondence including sensitive management and staff-in-confidence issues:
Screening telephone calls and answering queries:
Follows up on outstanding matters, which includes:
Reviewing obligating forms, procurement and staff contracts for D/OSM’s approval:
Providing general administrative support to the Office of Special Missions:
Organising and maintaining an office filing system to ensure administrative records are up-to-date:

Fluency in English is essential and a good working knowledge of one of the other official languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is desirable.
Staff members in the General Services category are normally recruited and paid on a local basis.
This fixed-term appointment is for the duration of two years, with a six-month probationary period, and is subject to the OPCW Staff Regulations and Interim Staff Rules.
The mandatory age of separation at the OPCW is 65 years.
The Director-General retains the discretion to not make any appointment to this vacancy, to make an appointment at a lower grade, or to make an appointment with a modified job description. Several vacancies may be filled.
