Job Description

Save the Children and 54 reasons are well known for championing creative and innovative solutions to support all children and families to reach their full potential. We're on the search for an experienced and passionate administration professional to support our Tasmanian team.

54 reasons is Australia’s leading child rights organisation – no ordinary not-for-profit.

Proudly part of the Save the Children Australia Group and global movement, we’re here to make sure that children and young people have their rights met and thrive, in all their diversity.

With the child’s voice at the centre, we provide quality services to children and their caregivers in every state and territory, and across regions, remote areas and capital cities. From our programs to our support services - this is the place to realise your purpose.

A place to make a difference:

In this permanent part-time position (3 days per week – days negotiable), you'll provide effective and efficient day-to-day administrative coordination for our Tasmanian team. Reporting to the Operations Support Manager, you’ll have an opportunity to extend your skills to help facilitate the development of business systems and supports that increase our ability to make a positive impact in our community. To secure the right person, we are keen to hear from candidates located in Devonport, Launceston and Hobart.

You will make an impact by:

  • Finance - Accurately undertaking all financial activities including the processing of invoices, purchase orders, banking and budget development
  • Property & Asset Management – Coordinating asset management including office site management, fleet and office hardware assets
  • Communications & Stakeholder Engagement – Engaging with internal and external stakeholders and providing information and support in an appropriate and accurate manner
  • Workplace health and safety - Coordinating property audits, identifying opportunities for improvement and responding accordingly
  • Administration - Providing general office coordination and support

A place to feel valued:

You're an adaptable all-rounder, with a proven background in administration or office management support, finance and data processing and/or able to acquire these skills quickly. Your organisational skills alongside your attention to detail will support the efficient and effective running of the Tasmanian team. You're personable and friendly, and you'll easily build strong positive relationships with all stakeholders and the community.

This role requires:

  • Strong computer literacy and data entry skills (word processing, spreadsheets, databases and graphics) are essential
  • Financial and invoice reconciliation skills and experience
  • Exceptional customer service and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management and organisational skills

A place to belong:

At 54 reasons, we invest in the development and wellbeing of our people. Our workforce is approximately 600 people strong, and proudly diverse, whether in race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexuality, cultures and beliefs.

It takes all types of people to do the challenging work we do. We are diverse personalities, backgrounds and talents, embracing our differences as one strong and united team. We see and celebrate the unique value you bring to our organisation, and offer a range of rewards for your effort, including:

  • Generous award rate salary (SCHADS Level 3.1 – currently $38.65 per hour) plus super and full salary packaging benefits - use this link to see how much this benefit could mean to you!
