• Professional graduate in the areas of agronomy, biology, geography, forestry engineering, environmental engineering or related, social or environmental sciences. • Proven experience of at least 6 years in the coordination, supervision and management of projects and programs in protected natural areas. • Knowledge of Belize, Guatemala and Mexico, particularly in the project's priority natural areas in Belize, their importance, resources, challenges, processes, management and actors. • Ability to interact with multidisciplinary teams, government organizations, particularly with the authorities in charge of the management of protected areas in the sector. • Experience working with rural communities and indigenous peoples. • Management of computer tools (online administrative systems, Word, Excel, power point, Google drives, Dropbox, Wetransfer). • Ability and excellence in written and oral expression is a highly valued requirement. Therefore, the candidate who passes the interview will be required to take written tests to assess his or her handling of comprehension and written communication. • Advance level in Spanish and English in language spoken, written and read • General knowledge of the country's languages will be a plus. • Reside or be available to reside in Belmopan, Belize • Willingness to travel within and outside the countries comprising the project, as required by their duties. • Problem-solving skills, creativity, initiative, and innovation. • Ability for interpersonal relationships, management of interdisciplinary and multicultural personnel and teamwork. • Show ease of performing their tasks with organization and adherence to procedures. • Ability to make decisions about their tasks under the framework of given instructions and established procedures. • Ability to contribute to work in multidisciplinary teams. • Ability to work with people of various characteristics, social, personal and professional. • Understanding of the institutional environment in which their work will be carried out, which means that they understand the institutional characteristics and the thematic commitment that corresponds to them. • Sensitive to the cultural, social and economic practices of local groups, peasants, indigenous people and agricultural producers. • Sensitive and willing to work under the gender approach and the principles of respect for indigenous populations. • Competencies: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at various levels. • Excellent planning, organizational, and supervisory skills. • Ease of performing tasks in an organized, punctual manner and adherence to procedures. • Ability to work under pressure. • Ability to work in multidisciplinary, multicultural and diverse environments. • Ability to work with people of various social, personal, and professional characteristics. • Sensitive to the cultural and social practices of local groups, Indigenous Peoples' organizations from different countries and areas. • Sensitivity and experience in issues of social inclusion, gender equity and involvement of vulnerable populations in participatory processes. • Accountability, efficiency, reliability, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information. • Previous experience in governmental and/or non-governmental organizations and/or academic institutions focused on the conservation of natural areas or environmental policies in Belize. • Experience managing and operating international funds such as KFW desirable. |
