Mission and objectives

UN Women is the United Nations entity dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. A global champion for women and girls, UN Women was established to accelerate progress on meeting their needs worldwide. UN Women supports UN Member States as they set global standards for achieving gender equality, and works with governments and civil society to design laws, policies, programmes and services needed to ensure that the standards are effectively implemented and truly benefit women and girls worldwide.

Context

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign that runs from 25 November to 10 December. In 2025, UN Women Uganda, together with national partners, will implement a nationwide campaign to raise awareness, amplify survivors’ voices, and mobilize action to end violence against women and girls. To maximize visibility and engagement, we are seeking five online volunteers to support the creation of impactful digital content for multiple platforms.

Task Description

• Create weekly, platform-specific content for one assigned social media channel (Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, or YouTube). • Collaborate with fellow volunteers and UN Women Uganda’s communications team to ensure coherence in campaign messaging. • Develop engaging multimedia materials (graphics, short videos, captions) aligned with campaign themes and branding. • Provide recommendations on strategies to expand audience engagement, reach youth audiences, and mobilize online supporters/donors. Deliverables • 12 social media posts (1 per week) tailored to the assigned platform. • 12-week content calendar (Excel/Google Sheets) with themes, formats, and posting schedules. • At least 12 multimedia assets (graphics, short videos, infographics) optimized per platform. • End-of-campaign analytics report (5–7 pages, MS Word + charts) summarizing engagement, reach, and lessons learned.
