Mission and objectives

Mission and Objectives Mission ERONet’s mission is to alleviate suffering and create opportunities for sustainable development in rural and post-conflict settings through multi-dimensional programs and services that reduce disadvantage among vulnerable and at-risk women and girls, and people living with disabilities. Objectives Increase access to and participation in free education, both state-provided and private, for vulnerable groups. Provide and support vocational training and literacy programs to improve welfare and livelihoods. Eliminate violence and discrimination against women and girls through the promotion of gender equality, human and property rights, democracy, and good governance. Expand access to affordable, quality health care for underserved individuals and communities, while promoting awareness on healthy living. Promote rural livelihood enhancement by supporting water and sanitation facilities, agricultural development, and training on disaster risk management (DRM) to address climate change impacts.

Context

Enabling Rural Opportunity Network (ERONet) is a women-centered, community-based organization working in Northern Uganda Lamwo District. Founded by women survivors of conflict, ERONet has been active for over 10 years, focusing on women’s rights, girls’ education, humanitarian assistance, health, livelihoods, and climate change resilience. ERONet currently operates without a registered constitution at district level but seeks to align its governance framework with national requirements under URSB and the NGO Bureau. Developing a compliant constitution will strengthen ERONet’s governance, accountability, and eligibility for partnerships and donor funding. This volunteer contribution will directly support ERONet’s institutional development and long-term sustainability.

Task Description

Enabling Rural Opportunity Network (ERONet), formerly Agoro Community Development Association (ACDA)ERONet seeks the support of an online volunteer with legal and governance expertise to help us draft a new constitution that complies with Uganda law and Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) requirements. The volunteer will review ERONet’s existing governance structure and organizational profile, then prepare a constitution template that includes: Organizational purpose, objectives, and powers. Membership provisions. Governance and leadership structure (General Assembly, Board of Trustees, Executive Management). Rules for meetings, elections, and decision-making. Financial management and accountability clauses. Compliance with URSB and NGO Bureau regulations in Uganda. The work will be done remotely through email and scheduled virtual calls (where needed). The volunteer will provide weekly progress updates and share drafts for feedback. The expected duration is 4–6 weeks. 👉 As a token of appreciation, the online volunteer will receive a United Nations Volunteers (UNV) certificate of appreciation upon successful completion of the assignment.
