INTRODUCTION TO GGGI

PURPOSE

The Communications and Knowledge Sharing Officer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Leading the creation and implementation of communication strategies for the Pacific Region portfolio, as well as the corresponding dissemination strategies for the necessary communication products, ensuring GGGI’s positioning in the region.
  • Leading Communications and Knowledge Sharing interventions and events across the region, as needed, to ensure effective and impactful communication and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Coordinating and taking a leading role in branding and event organization at both the country and regional levels to connect and showcase GGGI’s priorities, programs, capacities, and impact.

ENGAGEMENT

In doing so, s/he will work alongside:

  • Regional program staff while supporting the engagement of partner government ministries/agencies to ensure all materials, including jointly branded ones, are aligned with our communications guidelines.
  • All country-based communication and knowledge-sharing focal points, being the focal point in charge of ensuring quality and branding coherence, as well as supporting country-based initiatives by elevating them to regional/global levels.
  • GGGI HQ Communications and Knowledge Sharing Unit and other Event Teams to facilitate the country's outreach and communications and knowledge-sharing activities. Member of the Global Communication and Knowledge Sharing team
  • Collaborating with other units and divisions of GGGI to ensure integrated delivery as One GGGI.

DELIVERY

The Officer will:

  • Support the creation and implementation of comprehensive audience-centric communication and knowledge sharing strategies from regional to project levels and ensure that these are aligned with organizational and project goals and target audiences.
  • Support and coordinate the generation of compelling content for various communication channels including press releases, articles, blog posts, social media posts, newsletters, impact stories, videos, web content.
  • Support the development of high-quality publications and knowledge products including through editing, design, and translations, and ensure that these are disseminated consistently to target audiences.
  • Support organization-wide and external communications around GGGI's events, conferences, and workshops and engage with local journalists.
  • Ensure sign-off on communication and knowledge sharing products from relevant stakeholders.
  • Build and Manage all GGGI media relations for the Pacific Region
  • Drive a consistent and high-quality engagement with audiences on all social media platforms.
  • Ensure consistency in branding across all communication channels and materials, including visual identity, tone of voice, among others.
  • Measure the effectiveness of communication and knowledge sharing initiatives through KPIs, analytics, and feedback, and support the preparations of regular reports to management and GGGI’s global communications teams (HQ).
  • Engage with GGGI global communication and knowledge sharing team members to share, shape, and deliver effective and impactful communication and knowledge sharing initiatives.
  • Ensure the consistent integration of gender and social inclusion in all communication and knowledge sharing interventions.
  • Adhere to all GGGI visual, branding, and safeguarding guidelines in all communication and knowledge sharing products and interventions.
  • Stay informed about emerging communication trends, technologies, and best practices.

REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in a field relevant to marketing, communications, design or knowledge management or related fields.
  • Minimum of five years of experience within the field of communications, marketing, knowledge management.
  • A proven track record of creating engaging, innovative communication and knowledge production and knowledge sharing products and initiatives.
  • Experience designing and delivering knowledge production and/or research activities in the field.
  • Demonstrated experience on projects funded by international development partners or NGOs will be a plus.
  • Advance expertise in use of social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, other)
  • Proficiency with systems like WordPress, Adobe Suite applications such as Photoshop and Illustrator, InDesign, other communication tools and technologies is a must.
  • Experience with knowledge production process and knowledge management principles.
  • Strong writing skills, and excellent design and graphic skills will be an advantage.
  • Excellent communications skills in English are a must.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The Communications and Knowledge Sharing Officer is an X8 national grade level in GGGI's salary scale. For X8 Fiji National grade, the base salary starts from USD 30,534. Determination of base salary is subject to candidate's experience, academic background, and internal equity. GGGI provides 15% of base salary towards retirement plan/long-term savings, 27 days of annual leave, and private health insurance that covers dental and vision.
