Unit Context: Better transport has the potential to improve the lives and livelihoods of billions of people by facilitating access to jobs, markets, and essential services such as healthcare or education. The World Bank provides financial and technical assistance to help countries implement sustainable mobility solutions that create real, lasting development benefits. https://www.worldbank.org/en/topic/transport Duties and Responsibilities:

• Project preparation and implementation. Support the preparation and implementation of World Bank-financed transport projects, including monitoring the implementation of specific project sub-components and activities.
• Lobito Corridor. Support the transport team in its assistance to the Government of Angola on the development, preparation, and implementation of the Lobito Corridor Masterplan and the corresponding transport investment plan.
• São Tomé and Príncipe portfolio. Support the transport team in the development and implementation of the transport portfolio in STP.
• Partner engagement. Assist the team in its engagement with donors, development partners, and regional agencies on potential investments and analytical work, by preparing briefs, tracking activities, and following up on actions, to help maximize the impact of World Bank-financed projects on the ground.
• Cross-sector engagement. Contribute, as requested, to cross-sector teams working on the cross-sector aspects of projects, providing inputs on the sections pertaining to the transport sector: road safety, gender, natural hazards and resilience, emissions reduction, etc.
• IFC and MIGA collaboration. Contribute to the team's collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) on transport sector policies, including by sharing information and preparing background inputs.
• Research and analytics. Provide high-quality research and analytical support, including quantitative data analysis and contributions to draft policy notes related to transport for Angola and STP, as well as at the regional level.
• Project documentation. Assist in drafting and providing contributions to project documents, implementation status and results reports, and project completion reports for World Bank-financed projects, following the institution's internal processes and guidelines.
• Missions and technical visits. Support the preparation, completion, and follow-up of official World Bank missions and technical visits, including by assisting with the drafting of aide-mémoires and official correspondence.
• Trust fund and analytical work. Support the preparation of trust fund (TF) proposals and terms of reference for studies and assist with the implementation of analytical work funded by TFs.
• Provide cross support to other country programs, as required.
