Salary: 77 400 UAH gross / 59 598 UAH

About MAG in Ukraine:

Since the Russian invasion of 24th February, Ukraine has been subjected to heavy artillery bombardment, missiles, and air strikes, as well as the use of landmines and cluster munitions. The scale of the conflict and the use of high impact and indiscriminate weapons requires an urgent and extensive response.  MAG seeks to save lives and build safer futures by providing risk education to communities, to help them stay safe. MAG is also in the process of seeking accreditation to start conducting explosive ordnance disposal and demining activities in Ukraine, to save the lives of people affected by the conflict. 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Responsibilities:

Monthly-End Closure Reporting & MAG accounting software Management: 

• Prepare monthly Cashbook Reports detailing donor(s) fund utilization by counterparty, expense category, and project in accordance with MAG standards; maintain Cashbook Report in MAG accounting report system (PSF financial).
• Generate monthly consolidated Payroll Reports (Payroll Report) 
• Participate in preparing fund transfer requests (Funds Request) 
• Compile and maintain the monthly donor fund allocation reports for shared project expenses (Allocation Report) 

 Finance Project Management: Budget Analysis, Donor Reporting & Audit Support: 

• Support and prepare reports according to donor requirements 
• Verification of financial transactions per projects 
• Assist to the Finance Team in internal and external audits and preparing donor reports 
• Support the Country Finance Manager (CFM) during the budget proposal process  (gather information, analyse costs, prepare internal budget and donor template etc.) 
• Budget Follow-up: Support the preparation of the Budget vs Accruals (BvAs).
• Monthly reports, provide analysis of the financial situation according to MAG standards and donor requirements. Implement necessary solutions with the support of the DCFM and CFM to facilitate the well implementation of the projects. 

 General: 

• Support the finance team in contracts verification according to Ukrainian law, donor guidelines, and MAG policy 
• Maintaining the contract register, storage and systematization of contracts 
• Support Finance Team Management in preparing various reports and requests in accordance with legal requirements, donor guidelines, and MAG policy 
• Support project staff in financial matters 
• Any other tasks as assigned 

ABOUT YOU:

We are seeking a candidate with:

• Higher education (accounting and auditing, finance, economics degree) 
• Good skills in Ukrainian and English, both verbal and written 
• Knowledge of National Accounting Standards, and other regulatory documents 
• Knowledge of IFRS is a plus 
• Experience working in NGO 
• Experience from working with local financial institutions and tax authorities is a plus 
• MS Office - Advanced Excel User, Experience with BAF is a plus 
• Flexibility to work in a multicultural environment 
• Analytical and organization skills
