The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is dedicated to achieving global food security, reducing hunger, and promoting sustainable agriculture. Social media plays a critical role in raising awareness about FAO’s initiatives, engaging stakeholders, and mobilizing support for campaigns aimed at eradicating hunger and supporting rural development. This assignment focuses on supporting FAO’s communications team in enhancing its outreach through X/Twitter and Facebook. By creating and implementing effective social media campaigns, the volunteer will directly contribute to amplifying FAO’s message, fostering community engagement, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices globally.Task Description
We are looking for experienced and creative Online Volunteers who will support the FAOKZ communications team with social media updates and assist with developing an impactful social media campaign for Twitter and Facebook. In close collaboration with the communications team, the Online Volunteers will: - Draft, design, and publish social media content - Produce social media posts - Create visual materials - Provide high-quality translation of documents, web content, and communication materials from English and Russian into Kazakh. - Support the migration of website content from the existing platform to the new website platform, including content review, formatting, quality assurance. - Conduct proofreading and quality control of translated materials to ensure compliance with organizational standards and editorial guidelines. The Online Volunteers will be provided with materials and other sources to develop the outreach/social media campaign as required and available. For close coordination and discussion, the Online Volunteer is expected to be available for calls via WhatsApp/Zoom/Microsoft Teams. This assignment provides Online Volunteers with an opportunity to develop and strengthen their skills in communication, networking within the communications team and other learning experiences.Competencies and values
