The UN Women Country Programme in Brazil is implemented in line with the national development priorities, as well as in the framework of the international commitments to gender equality and empowerment of women, as well as the UN frameworks and instruments on Human Right, of which Brazil is signatory, such as the CEDAW, CERD, Beijing Platform for Action, Durban Action Plan, Agenda 2030, as well as the UN Security Council Resolutions on Women, Peace and Security. It is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Partnerships Framework.
The UN Women Country Office in Brazil focuses on three key areas:
UN Women Brazil also coordinates and promotes the UN system’s work in advancing gender equality. As part of the United Nations Country Team, leads the Inter-Agency Thematic Group on Gender, Race and Ethnicity, and actively contributes to the other UN inter-agency mechanisms.
Reporting to the Deputy Head of Programme, the Programme Analyst contributes to the effective management of UN Women programmes in the UN Women programmes in Brazil, by providing substantive inputs to programme design, formulation, implementation and evaluation. The Programme Analyst guides and facilitates the delivery of UN Women programmes by monitoring results achieved during implementation and ensuring appropriate application of systems and procedures and develops enhancements if necessary. The Programme Analyst works in close collaboration with the programme and operations team, UN Women HQ personnel, Government officials, multi and bi-lateral donors and civil society ensuring successful UN Women programme implementation under portfolio.
II. Scope of Work:

2. Coordinate the monitoring and reporting on Programmes and Portfolios
3. Manage people and finances of the programme team.
4. Contribute technically to the development of programmatic strategy areas
5. Provide substantive technical support to the implementation and management of programmes
6. Provide technical assistance and capacity development to project/programme partners
7. Provide technical inputs to the monitoring and reporting of the programme/project
8. Provide substantive inputs to building partnerships and resource mobilization strategies
9. Provide technical support to inter-agency coordination to achieve coherence and alignment of UN Women programmes with other partners in the country
10. Provide substantive inputs to advocacy, knowledge building and communication efforts
11. The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organisation.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities: The incumbent may be requested to supervise programme/project assistants and associates. S/he will also supervise affiliate personnel (consultants).

In July 2010, the United Nations General Assembly created UN Women, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women. The creation of UN Women came about as part of the UN reform agenda, bringing together resources and mandates for greater impact.
