Role and responsibilities
The Finance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the financial operations in the NRC Moldova Mission align with NRC standards. This role includes providing technical support to management and program teams, building the capacity of finance staff and maintaining efficient accounting, monitoring, and reporting procedures.
Generic responsibilities
Ensure that Office financial operations adhere to Financial Handbook, NRC policies, donor and audit requirements
Implement NRC’s financial systems, routines and procedures
Maintain overall budget control and monitor cash flows
Management of finance team
Provide regular analysis and reports for the projects
Manage the financial software for proper control and regular periodic closing
Capacity building of the non-finance staff (Program teams) on financial management
Capacity building of finance team on financial policies, tools, and donor regulations.
Contribute to the implementation of Safe and Inclusive Programming Minimum Standards throughout programmes, with capacity building, guidance, and inter-departmental engagement.
Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards and principles within NRC and amongst project participants supported by NRC.
Specific responsibilities
Ensure timely Month End Closure according to NRC procedures
Ensure that the accounting, monitoring, and reporting are according to NRC procedures
Review payment documents and ensure accuracy and compliance with NRC and donor requirements
Oversee with Banks, their reconciliations, etc.
Review and ensure accuracy of all the financial data entered in Agresso/UNIT4
Ensure supporting document archiving as per NRC Moldova SSD procedures
Review and ensure accuracy of implementing partner financial report and respective supporting documents
Responsible for any project financial report for management review and approval
Responsible for drafting any project budget and it’s revision for management review and approval
Implement any other Finance related task as requested by the Support Manager or Finance Manager.

Competencyis important in order for the employee and the organization to deliver desired results. They are relevant for all staff and are divided into the following two categories:
Professional competencies
2-3 years of experience as a Finance Coordinator in an INGO or humanitarian agency
University degree in accounting, finance or equivalent is preferred
Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
Solid knowledge of computer software and modern accounting systems.
Fluency in English, both written and verbal
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
