Mission and objectives

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable cities, towns and other human settlements.

Context

The material to be designed is FCAO2025, which is the flagship report of the UN-Habitat China Future Cities Council (CFCC). The CFCC is one of the flagship programmes of UNHabitat China Office, it serves as a partnership platform that brings together UN-Habitat with visionary entrepreneurs and CEOs from China's high-tech and private sector. FCAO2025 conducts an in-depth analysis of the impact of artificial intelligence technologies on urban development, unlocks urban potential and promotes urban prosperity. Meanwhile, it addresses the challenges posed by the digital divide, strengthens technology sharing, ensures that AI technologies benefit more regions, and provides new ideas and solutions for the sustainable development of cities worldwide. CFCC is expecting to launch FCAO2025 in the six official languages of the UN on the 13th World Urban Forum in Azerbaijan, the professionally designed layouts in multiple languages will ensure inclusive, multilingual access to knowledge that empowers cities worldwide.

Task Description

This online assignment is looking for 3 Online Volunteers who under the guidance of the UN Habitat programme team members and in close collaboration with the communications team will produce the layout of the French version of the 2025 Future Cities Advisory Outlook: AI and Cities (FCAO2025) report. In particular, each Online Volunteer will: - Support in the production of the updated layout of the French version of the FCAO2025 report based on requirements and the existing layout of the Chinese version of the report. - The OV will collaborate and make required edits basis discussions with the focal point/communications team. - Support in the development of the layout according to the agreed requirements. The layout should follow corporate design guidelines which will be shared with the Online Volunteers in advance.
