About the Hiring GroupThe role falls within the Growth Unit, which manages how RTI pursues, wins, and grows our project portfolio across U.S., state, local, and foreign governments, commercial sector, and foundations, in collaboration with technical staff across the organization. What You'll DoThe Senior Account Executive, Life Sciences plays a critical role in building RTI’s Life Sciences commercial presence. This role is fundamentally focused on creating, shaping, and scaling a new pipeline of opportunities, working closely with the Strategic Account Executive / Life Sciences Sector Lead to drive significant new business development across the sector. Operating at the intersection of science and execution, this individual will support the Life Sciences sector strategy by helping translate sector priorities into actionable opportunities. They will work cross functionally with various internal stakeholders, build early client relationships, advance targeted pursuits, and contribute to the development of a sustainable pipeline. Acting as both a builder and performer, the Senior Account Executive will establish the foundation for long-term growth by developing account strategies and enabling cross-functional alignment to deliver impactful, science-driven solutions. Contribute to the creation of a new, qualified pipeline of Life Sciences opportunities, with a strong emphasis on net-new business development Assist in identification and prioritization of target accounts, segments, and white space opportunities aligned to RTI’s capabilities Develop and execute proactive outreach and engagement strategies to establish early-stage client relationships Collaborate with Practice Areas, Business Development, and Business Partners to support decisions on building a healthy pipeline Support the planning and implementation of regular account team meetings to share information critical to account planning and execution Promote the client call planning process and use of client relationship management systems for maximum efficiency and visibility Support the organization’s goal of creating a healthy pipeline of key opportunities that match client need with RTI expertise Support client knowledge gathering and the use of client relationship management tools for maximum efficiency and visibility Identify and escalate risks and support mitigation planning in partnership with contracts and internal stakeholders Build and maintain strong working relationships with research staff, share information on innovations and technical solutions, and understand how key technical capabilities align with client needs Support business proposal efforts, including contributing to pricing intelligence and price-to-win considerations for opportunities Maintain awareness of competitive drivers and contribute to planning efforts to support successful outcomes What You'll NeedMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and 12 years of relevant experience, Master's degree and 10 years of relevant experience, PhD and 6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 5 years’ demonstrable experience in a business development, client-centric/client facing role, or similar within the life sciences sector. To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status, etc.). Skills & Abilities: Possesses a thorough knowledge of the life sciences market and solutions. Successful track record in building relationships with clients and the ability to interact effectively and positively with all levels of internal and external clients and colleagues. Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.Ability to proactively manage multiple completing demands and deadlines simultaneously. Excellent analytical and and resolve problems in a proactive and timely manner. Proven track record of inspiring respect and trust. Ability to work in a team environment and at all levels of the organization. Ability to gain stakeholder support and to operate independently without supervision. Strong drive for collaboration across the institute with an understanding that success is built upon teamwork and networking. Proven track record of supporting commercial life sciences portfolio. Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel. Ability to travel throughout the year to domestic and/or international locations.
