Organizational Setting

FAO Country Offices, working under overall corporate guidance and in line with the Strategic Framework, offer policy advice and support to countries in the mandated areas of FAO, facilitated through partnerships, resources and an active country programme to provide technical assistance, develop capacities and deliver core services while fully observing international standards of accountability to establish leadership and strengthen impact at the country level. 
The offices deliver on the programmatic priorities of each country as agreed in their respective Country Programming Frameworks (CPFs) aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) and ensure effective and efficient operations with adequate human and financial resources.

The position is at SB III - SC 6 level and located at Karachi, Sindh.

Reporting Lines:

Reporting Support will report to Assistant FAO Representative (Programme) and work as team member of FAO Technical Assistance Team, The incumbent will work at Project Coordination and Monitoring Unit of Sindh Water and Agriculture Transformation Project (PCMU-SWAT), and will support FAO TA Team in day to day reporting and coordination matters.

Technical Focus:

The Reporting Support will support project partners of the Sindh Water & Agriculture Transformation (SWAT) Program by leading and coordinating reporting, documentation, and knowledge management functions under the FAO Technical Assistance framework. The role will focus on capturing and synthesizing program progress related to sustainable, competitive, and climate-resilient agriculture, including interventions in irrigation modernization, agricultural production systems, crop protection, climate-smart practices, digitalization, and mechanization. The incumbent will ensure timely preparation of high-quality technical and progress reports, policy briefs, and knowledge products, while facilitating data-driven analysis to inform decision-making. The position will also support multi-stakeholder coordination, documentation of crop sector strategies for targeted communities, and provision of reporting backstopping for capacity-building, policy support, and knowledge-sharing initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity, market orientation, livelihoods, nutrition, and incomes of small- and medium-scale farmers, including women, within the SWAT project framework.

Tasks and responsibilities

•     Draft regular reports in consultation with the Team leader, officers, and Lead Technical Officer (LTO).
•     Prepare periodic reports, and final project reports.
•     Support mission arrangements.
•     Prepares and systematically updates project information material (Fact Sheets, FAQs, backgrounders, data tables), briefings, and presentations on the situation in coordination with other team members.
•     Maintain a close collaboration with partners and PCMU to ensure a smooth exchange of information between stakeholders of the project.
•     Maintain essential contacts with relevant sections at FAO office(s) and PCMU to facilitate timely and accurate information flow.
•     Collect articles, case studies, best practices across projects for evidence gathering and
•     Compile Articles, Case Studies and Success Stories as per the communication strategy of the project format so they are suitable for external audiences.
•     Prepare regular reports on activities, outputs and outcomes and extract relevant reports as required.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

Minimum Requirements    

•     Masters in English Studies, Business Administration / Management or another related field to the Organization
•     Three years of experience in report writing or consolidation of project results.
•     Working knowledge of English, Urdu and Sindhi 
•     National of Pakistan
