The European Investment Fund (EIF) is seeking to recruit for its Investment Office (IO) Client Services Department (CSD) – Equity Services Division at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a (Senior) Portfolio Services Officer (Equity).
This is a full-time temporary position at grades 4/5 (depending on experience).
The EIF offers a CDD contract until the 30 September 2028. As this is a temporary position, no extension or conversion of the contract is foreseen.

Purpose
Part of the EIB Group, the mission of the European Investment Fund (EIF) is to improve access to finance for SMEs and small mid-caps in Europe. We do this by supporting emerging and established fund managers with equity investments and by designing debt financing instruments that share the risk taken by financial institutions when they lend to or invest in small businesses. We bring this support closer to entrepreneurs through our extensive network of partners and financial intermediaries in all EU Member States and associated countries.
Operating network
In its capacity as mandate manager/advisor, EIF is under the obligation to carry out ex ante (for new fund investees) and/or ex post (for every fund and mandate portfolio) controls on the equity operations, to ensure that the Mandates are effectively and correctly implemented. In this context, the Client Services – Equity Services is responsible for supervising data input, validating information, and conducting eligibility checks and monitoring of equity transactions. Portfolio Services (Equity) is responsible for ensuring quality data inflows from operations and quality data usage for operational and business intelligence purposes.
The current position is located in the Portfolio Services (Equity) Unit, which acts as a centre of expertise in terms of data collection methods and tools for the division, other EIF services and EIF as a whole. The successful candidate will primarily be in charge of activities of data collection, validation and general oversight of data / reports delivered by funds across alternative asset classes. The candidate will be expert on operational data topics and will be involved in internal projects alongside other stakeholders.
In the context of the above, you will report to and work under the supervision of the Portfolio Services (Equity) Unit Head, who in turn reports to the Head of Client Services (Equity) Division.
Responsibilities
At a level commensurate with your experience and seniority, you will:
Collect, validate and process NAV and portfolio data from quarterly reports received from EIF counterparts for equity business line.
Coordinate and ensure timely and high-quality input of EIF counterparts investee financial data for equity business line, thereby ensuring data availability for operational and financial reporting and for other uses. Manage and coordinate external services providers supporting EIF in the overall data portfolio services process.
Support preparation and update of EIF reporting templates and manuals and provide guidelines to EIF counterparties for their quarterly reporting process to EIF.
Provide to EIF services and EIF counterparts expertise advice & solutions on data in relation to EIF business lines. Act as a subject matter reference for equity data processing activities.
Support audit process for EIF and manage programs by responding to auditors’ information requests, supporting the documentation and analysis of underlying data received from EIF counterparties, and assisting in the follow up and implementation of any recommendations.
Perform review and analysis of audited accounts received from counterparties for the equity business line and liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate, consistent and timely reporting.
Ensure a robust control environment is maintained and that all operational and compliance risks are actively managed and mitigated.
Contribute as required to process enhancements and automation in relation to portfolio services activities of the Unit.
Support the team members in the delivery of any internal projects assigned to the Unit.
Qualifications
University degree, preferably at post-graduate level, in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Engineering or related subjects.
At least three years and no more than five of post-graduation (after having obtained your initial university diploma) relevant professional experience at the same level of responsibility acquired in the field of Banking/Asset Management, Reporting, Quantitative Analysis, Audit, Fund Administration, Finance or related areas, preferable with exposure to alternative assets.
Sound knowledge and understanding of alternative asset classes. Good understanding of EIF’s mission and activities as well as the operating and political framework in which EIF operates.
Previous experience with data intensive processes and analyses and good understanding of relevant technologies to facilitate process automation would be considered an asset.
Additional professional qualifications (e.g. CFA, ACCA) would be considered an asset.
Knowledge of data analytics and automation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Power Automate and Alteryx would be considered an advantage.
Excellent knowledge of English, both oral and written. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.

This includes evaluating banking products, such as loans, credit facilities, and investment options, and identifying their alignment with EIBG interests, while supporting strategic decision-making in PE, VC, and banking operations.
