SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian NGO which, for more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their vital needs for food, water and shelter. Particularly involved in the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the first cause of death in the world, SI's interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in around twenty countries, SI's teams - 2000 people in total made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at headquarters, and a few volunteers - work with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.
ABOUT MYANMAR MISSION
Solidarités International (SI) is operating in Myanmar since May 2008. SI’s current programs in Myanmar include:
Working closely with programme and support departments at the coordination level, as well as with field teams, the Grants and Partnerships Manager's main role is to lead the development of proposals, act as the focal point for the grant management cycle and ensure accountability to donors.
They are responsible for managing and monitoring funding contracts throughout the contract cycle (from the identification of the funding opportunity to the closure of the project). The Grants and Partnerships Manager participates in the search for funding, prepares documents, monitors the implementation of interventions, transmits information to ensure compliance with SI practices, and supervises the preparation of reports and contract amendments where necessary.
They also coordinate between the various departments involved in drafting project proposals and reports.
ISSUE & SEPCIFIC CHALLENGES:
Better responding to the department’s requirements and challenges, particularly those related to the context and fundraising constraints; operating with a large number of implementing partners, requiring strong rigor and attention to partnership structures; and strengthening team capacity on grants-related aspects.
PRIORITIES ON THE 2-3 FIRST MONTHS
- Ensure follow-up of different projects, including acting as the focal point for a multi-partner consortium.
-Support the Grants and Partnerships Coordinator in developing proposals.
-Contribute to the restructuring of the department and its tools to strengthen its role within the mission.
-Maintain close oversight of partnership follow-up, in collaboration with Partnerships Managers at field bases.
Studies: Higher diploma in International Relations, Development and Humanitarian Action, Political Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
EXPERIMENT IN THE HUMANITARIAN SECTOR: 2 Years
EXPERIMENT ON SIMILAR POSITIONS: At least 2 years
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Grant Management with knowledge of various donors.
- Partnership Management
- Excellent in Project Proposal Development and writing
TRANSVERSAL SKILLS:
- Excellent writing and presentation skills.
- Autonomy and ability to work independently.

A salaried position: Depending on experience, from EUR 2,310 gross per month (2,100 base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of 600 USD.
SI also covers accommodation and travel expenses between the expatriate's home country and place of assignment.
Breaks: During the mission, a system of alternating work and vacations is set up at the rate of 7 working days every three months (with USD 850 allocated by Solidarités International). These breaks are supplemented by an extra day off for each month worked.
Social and medical coverage: Expatriates are covered by an insurance policy that reimburses all healthcare costs (including medical and surgical expenses, dental and eye care, repatriation) and a contingency plan that includes war risks. Essential vaccinations and anti-malaria treatments are reimbursed.
Living Condition: The position will be based in Yangon with visits to field offices. In Yangon, living conditions are very good, all commodities can be found (supermarket, restaurant, live entertainment, sports clubs and gyms. There are no restrictions on transportation and expatriates usually walk or bike to the office. The position will be housed in the SI guesthouse close to all amenities.
