We are looking for a dynamic and innovative professional who will help improve lives in the region by supporting the design, implementation and evaluation of health and nutrition operations. The Sector Specialist will contribute to strengthening the Division’s development effectiveness capacities, supporting the advancement of a results-based culture grounded in empirical evidence and portfolio management focused on results.
You will work in the Health, Nutrition, and Population (HNP) Division, which is part of the Social Sector. The HNP team is responsible for preparing and supervising IDB operations in borrowing countries in the areas of health, including human capital investment strategies, strengthening health networks, health system financing, organization, and performance—as well as in nutrition and population.
Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in public health, health economics, economics, epidemiology, public policy, public administration, social policy, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
Experience: At least 4 years of relevant progressive professional experience supporting the design, implementation, and evaluation of health and/or social sector projects. This includes experience in the design and review of results matrices, theories of change, monitoring and evaluation plans, and impact evaluations of health projects. Candidates must demonstrate experience in development effectiveness, including the use of results-based frameworks and/or monitoring and evaluation tools. Experience working with government entities and/or international development institutions is required. Familiarity with Multilateral Development Bank Development Effectiveness Frameworks is preferred. Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, and database management is desirable.
Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.
