Mucosal Immunology and Vaccinology Unit (MIVU) under the Infectious Diseases Division has a focus on studies to understand the systemic and mucosal immunology of diseases with natural infections and its application and extension to better determine the vaccine efficacy. Emphasis has been on studies of cholera, Shigella, ETEC, typhoid and recently on COVID-19 research.
Position Description:
The Programme Manager, Coordination will report to the Senior Scientist and be responsible for coordinating and collaborating on all planning, organising, and implementation of the field activities of MIVU to ensure high-quality field implementation of the project activities within the strategy of icddr,b, as well as organisational values and guidelines. S/he will be involved to:
- Coordinate with Donor, Project Management Team, Central Management Service (i.e. HR, Finance) and Support Service (i.e. Supply Chain, IT) for various aspects of the project; Liaise with staff from local and national implementing partners from different organizations especially those who are related to the project;
- Supervise the development of tools and materials for implementation in collaboration with the Central Management Team (CMT);
- Collect data from the community and implementation team, analyze data and coordinate with the Monitoring and Evaluation Team. Report progress to the CMT periodically;
- Provide update to project management on overall projects and financial management of the Department and funding status; Follow up with Project and project support staff on timely submission of technical and financial reports to Donors;
- Understand and comply with different funders' regulations and funding mechanism;
- Train the implementation team to carry out the implementation of the intervention project across the entire field site;
- Review existing systems, processes, and complaints/concerns from internal stakeholders; Identify potential areas for improving systems and processes and recommend action plans to improve processes to optimise costs (e.g. Petty cash, Overtime, asset allocation, training for field and divisional staff etc); Recommend changes / new initiatives to the MIVU management;
Required qualifications and experience:
- Master's in relevant field with good academic record; Advanced degree/diploma in project management will be given preference.
- At least 08 years of Program/project management and coordination experience in public health-related projects in national/international organizations;

Contract Type and duration:
- Short-Term Contractual Service Agreement; duration will be 11 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.
Salary & benefits:
- Tk.173,494/-per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances;
- Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
