Job Description

What we are looking for

The Nabni B4P Facility/NRC is looking for a leader passionate about social cohesion, an expert in peace programming and building partnerships with local actors and driving systems change to guide the Nabni Facility as Head of Programmes and Learning. This is not your orthodox Head of Programmes role.

The Nabni Building for Peace (B4P) Facility is a grant-making initiative that aims at strengthening social cohesion and locally led reconstruction processes in conflict-impacted communities in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Nabni works exclusively with local non-government organisations. Its work is centred around three pillars: 1) financing / grant making; 2) technical assistance and capacity development; and 3) knowledge exchange and learning.

As Head of Programmes and Learning, you will hold overall responsibility for strategy focused on peace building, technical lead on peace programming initiatives, partnerships and learning. This is a role for a creative, strategic thinker who can turn ideas into action and nurture collaboration.

If you’re a strategic, innovative leader committed to localised, people-centred solutions — this is the role for you!

What you will do

  • Setting and oversight of programmatic vision and quality assurance – including peace programming, B4P approach, gender etc

  • Facility governance, policy, strategic and external engagement

  • Design and quality assurance of Facility’s Technical Assistance approach (Pillar 2)

  • Oversight of MEL and delivery of Facility Learning (Pillar 3)

  • Oversight of E&S function in Facility

  • Proven experience of designing, monitoring and implementing programming in the areas of peacebuilding and in conflict analysis is mandatory.
  • Prior experience developing or managing partnerships with local and national non-governmental/civil society organisations is mandatory. It is an advantage if these partnerships were in MENA.
  • Experience with applying learning and knowledge exchange and a range of approaches to support capacity development needs of local civil society partners.
  • Experience and familiarity of working with M&E systems and approaches, particularly in post-conflict/development/peacebuilding programmes.
  • Experience of post-conflict recovery and reconstruction projects, especially in the MENA region.
  • Prior experience working with KfW-funded projects/ knowledge of KfW requirements is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse and sometimes remote teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and initiatives and achieve successful outcomes.
