Duties and Responsibilities
The intern shall support OHCHR CARO Administrative unit in fulfilling its mission. Daily responsibilities of the intern in Administration will depend on upcoming events as well as the individual's background. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Administrative and Finance Officer in the duty station, and under the overall guidance of the Regional Representative. Duties may include but are not limited to: - Support with secretarial, administrative and logistics support to office meetings and activities - Undertake necessary actions prior to meetings. - Provide general office assistance to colleagues. - Handle routine administrative tasks, such as maintaining attendance records and archiving. - Liaise with local providers to obtain quotations for Low value acquisitions. - Take notes during meetings and support administrative duties such as the preparation of documentation. - Support other substantive unit in the implementation of activities in the annual work plan when required. - Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications/special skills
a) Be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent or higher such as Master’s degree or equivalent, Ph.D. or postgraduate degree); b) Be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent).
Languages
Fluency in English or French is required; knowledge of the other is desirable.
