The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations that leads international efforts to defeat hunger. The FAO Country Office in Nepal engages with a wide range of development partners, including bilateral donors, multilateral institutions, and international organizations, to mobilize resources and strengthen partnerships in support of national development priorities. As FAO continues to implement and design projects under ongoing and planned programmes, there is a need for additional programme support related to partnership coordination, information management, and basic analytical work. The Programme Associate will support the Partnerships and Resource Mobilization cluster in day-to-day activities related to resource mobilization and international cooperation. Kathmandu is a family duty station with access to housing, healthcare, transportation, and communication services. FAO Nepal operates within an established UN system environment that provides support services to international personnel. While basic infrastructure is generally adequate, occasional disruptions to utilities may occur. Nepal offers a culturally rich living experience, and the UN community provides orientation and support to international volunteers.
