Context

As part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen the Talent Acquisition strategies of the UNV Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean, the objective is to broaden and diversify the talent sources for specialized technical profiles in IT, Data, and Web development. These profiles are increasingly relevant to support initiatives related to digital innovation, data management, information analysis, and the development of technological solutions within the ecosystem of the United Nations and its partners. However, identifying and attracting talent in these areas requires a deeper understanding of the technological ecosystems and professional communities where these profiles are typically found. In countries such as Brazil, IT/Data talent is often concentrated in a variety of spaces, including universities, technology training programs, innovation hubs, specialized digital communities, and professional networks. In this context, support is required from a volunteer who can conduct a mapping of the technological talent ecosystem in Brazil, with the aim of identifying strategic sources that can strengthen the sourcing and attraction strategies for IT/Data and Web profiles.

Task Description

The purpose of this assignment is to support the Talent Acquisition team of the UNV Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean in identifying and analyzing the IT/Data and Web talent ecosystem in Brazil, with the aim of expanding sourcing channels for specialized technical profiles. The selected volunteer will conduct a structured mapping of relevant actors, institutions, and technology communities, including universities, tech bootcamps, innovation hubs, professional associations, non-governmental organizations, digital technical communities, and sectoral networks related to technological development. The assignment will also involve identifying active digital communities where technology talent is concentrated, including professional and collaborative platforms such as LinkedIn, GitHub, Slack, Discord, and other relevant communities within the technology sector. Through this process, the volunteer will contribute to identifying strategic talent sources that can support the Talent Acquisition team in enhancing the search and attraction of eligible candidates in IT, Data, and Web development areas.
