Mission and objectives

En tant qu'agence chef de file des Nations unies pour le développement international, le PNUD travaille dans 170 pays et territoires pour éradiquer la pauvreté et réduire les inégalités. Nous aidons les pays à développer des politiques, des compétences de leadership, des capacités de partenariat, des capacités institutionnelles, et à renforcer la résilience pour atteindre les Objectifs de développement durable. Notre travail se concentre sur trois domaines d'intervention : le développement durable, la gouvernance démocratique et la consolidation de la paix, ainsi que la résilience au climat et aux catastrophes.

Context

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) works in approximately 170 countries and territories, contributing to poverty eradication, reducing inequalities and building resilience. In Côte d'Ivoire, UNDP is supporting the country in the implementation of its National Development Plan and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, in accordance with the fundamental principle of "leaving no one behind". UNDP Côte d'Ivoire is working in three priority areas: • Democratic governance, peacebuilding and the rule of law • Sustainable development, inclusive growth and innovation • Climate resilience, disaster prevention and ecological transition In an increasingly competitive international media landscape, UNDP Côte d'Ivoire needs to significantly strengthen its visibility with the international media and audiences. The country office's achievements in governance, sustainable development and climate resilience deserve a wider echo beyond national borders. This assignment aims to deploy a proactive strategy to mobilize the international media in order to: (i) amplify the narrative of UNDP Côte d'Ivoire's results on the global stage; (ii) build a sustainable international media network; (iii) position the country office as a key player in development debates in West Africa. The contribution of online volunteers through this assignment directly supports UNDP's efforts to achieve SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Task Description

Under the general supervision of the Deputy Resident Representative and the direct supervision of the Communications Officer, the Online Volunteer will be responsible for the following tasks: Data mapping and international media networking To carry out a mapping of key international media (news agencies, news channels, online media) covering West Africa and development themes • To build and update a structured database of media contacts (journalists, editors, correspondents, influential bloggers) classified by geographical area, theme and type of media • Identify journalists and influencers specialized in UNDP's areas of intervention: democratic governance, sustainable development, climate, innovation, gender equality • Engage in proactive dialogue with identified media contacts to build lasting relationships. The writing and distribution of articles must respect the graphic charter and editorial guidelines, which will be communicated in advance with the volunteers.
