Under the supervision of the Public Information Officer, and in close collaboration with the Advocacy Section and the Office of the Executive Director, the photographer/multimedia contractor will deliver the following results: -High-quality visual and multimedia content produced and delivered in a timely manner, effectively supporting UNODC's communication, advocacy and outreach objectives. -Enhanced visibility and public engagement for UNODC activities through professional photography, video production and social media visuals aligned with UNODC branding standards. -Well-organized and accessible multimedia assets (photo, video and audio) maintained across UNODC platforms, including the photo library, Flickr and YouTube accounts. -Improved accessibility, accuracy and consistency of multimedia materials through proper tagging, captioning, editing and metadata management. -Timely and accurate web and intranet updates contributing to effective dissemination of UNODC messaging. -Strengthened multilingual communication through high-quality translation of selected materials into Chinese.

Duties and Responsibilities
The UNODC Advocacy Section (AS) is entrusted with the direction and management of all communication, advocacy and public affairs activities of UNODC, and has primary responsibility to implement the communications strategy and drive communication priorities. A consistent visual brand identity is a vital asset for the organization, shaping how the organization is recognized by stakeholders worldwide. In alignment with UNODC's core mandate areas addressing pressing global challenges posed by drugs, crime, corruption and terrorism, AS seeks the expertise of an Individual Contractor (IC) to create compelling photography and multimedia content involving diverse digital visual products. The high-quality multimedia content will be disseminated though different channels including UNODC website, social media platforms, donor reporting and events. Under the supervision of the Public Information Officer and in close collaboration and guidance with Advocacy Section and the Office of the Executive Director, the photographer/multimedia contractor will perform the following duties: -Capture high-quality photographs and video footage for internal/external events, in line with established requirements. Record and edit video and audio materials, incl. Production of video messages using a teleprompter. -Create social media visuals and promotional materials for global campaigns in UN languages, and other relevant design platforms ensuring full adherence to UNODC branding guidelines. -Organize and maintain raw multimedia files. Enhance existing materials through the application of captions, tags, titles, voice overs while ensuring that all outputs are accurate, accessible and aligned with UNODC messaging and quality standards. -Support the management and regular updating of UNODC's multimedia platforms, including the UNODC Flickr and YouTube accounts, by uploading, organizing, and tagging visual and audiovisual content in accordance with established guidelines. -Translate documents and communication materials from English to Chinese, as required. -Regularly update UNODC photo library. Propose and implement measures to improve its accessibility and overall use within the office. -Support web and intranet content production (e.g., posting web stories and related materials) for the official website, including uploading, editing and managing content through WebDMS in accordance with UNODC web publishing guidelines. -Perform other duties as assigned by the Advocacy Section or the Office of the Executive Director.
Qualifications/special skills
High school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of two years of experience in digital and graphic design is required, specifically: • Experience in producing graphic design and animated content for use in social media, photography and videography; • Excellent skills and experience using various industry tools, familiarity with special effects, strong understanding of design thinking and storytelling approaches; • Good understanding of new and evolving technologies, digital and social media platforms; • Ability to work independently but also possessing excellent teamwork skills including the ability to work effectively with other national and cultural backgrounds; • Timely response to feedback.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
