The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigeria Nationals for the position below at the Institute’s headquarter in Ibadan.
Position: Proposal Development Assistant
Duration: 6 months’ renewable Location: Ibadan
DUTIES:
- Provide support to staff and proposal teams in completing proposal summary forms.
- Assign projects to the appropriate science areas on summary forms, in consultation with the Proposal Team Lead.
- Review proposal summary forms against corresponding agreements to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment of information, escalating discrepancies for clarification and resolution.
- Conduct daily searches to identify and analyse funding opportunities aligned with IITA’s strategy.
- Provide guidance to staff on navigating the proposal automation system.
- Contribute to the preparation of comprehensive weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on funding call searches and publications.
- Track and compile compliance monitoring reports from the Proposal Call Automation System for submission to the Senior Management Team.
- Support staff in developing proposal budgets.
- Ensure compliance with internal standards and donor guidelines during the proposal development phase.
- Assist in completing relevant administrative information as required by funding call guidelines.
- Retrieve proposal and project-related information from the project database as needed.
- Assist in maintaining the unit’s intranet platform, including uploading and updating relevant policy documents, workflows, templates, checklists, manuals, and related resources.
- Support the creation and updating of content on the unit’s activities for social media platforms.
- Collaborate with team members to develop training modules, provide guidance, and deliver capacity-building sessions for IITA colleagues and partners.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION:
BSC/HND Business Administration, Project Management, Public Administration Agriculture, or related courses with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment.
COMPETENCIES:
The ideal candidate must:
· Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Be proficient in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
· Be familiar with donor guidelines, grants, and the proposal development process.
· Possess strong organizational skills.
· Have the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
