Mission and objectives

Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD) supports the private sector and foundations to become transformative partners in development through research, advocacy for inclusive business, facilitation of public-private dialogue and brokering partnerships. IICPSD, established in 2011 in partnership with the Government of Turkey, is one of UNDP's six Global Policy Centres. It leads UNDP’s global work on private sector and foundations and supports UNDP’s offices all over the world. The Center focuses on four thematic areas: 1. Inclusive Business; 2. Private Sector Engagement in Skills Development; 3. Impact investing; 4. Resilience and Crisis Response. The Center also hosts four global initiatives: Business Call to Action, SDG Philanthropy Platform, Global Islamic Finance and Impact Investing Platform and Connecting Business Initiative.

Context

Children in frontline regions continue their education while facing daily security risks. Preparedness materials are often static and not interactive, limiting engagement and practical learning. This initiative introduces two complementary learning approaches: Gamified interactive modules with choice-based scenarios that allow children to practice decision-making safely. Non-gamified AR simulation mode offering calm, observation-based experiences suitable for younger and neurodiverse children. All content, visuals, and interactions will be reviewed to ensure age-appropriateness, trauma sensitivity, and accessibility. Online Volunteers will work within a structured one-month agile implementation cycle, collaborating remotely within a coordinated digital team environment.

Task Description

As an Online Volunteer, you may support the project through the following activities, depending on your expertise: • Contribute to the development of interactive mobile modules and AR-based simulations. • Support the creation of child-friendly visuals, animations, and interface elements. • Assist in drafting and refining educational scripts and scenario-based content. • Review materials for clarity, psychological safety, and age-appropriateness. • Support localization, language review, or accessibility adjustments where required. • Participate in testing across devices and provide structured feedback. • Contribute to documentation and preparation of final materials for handover. All volunteers will: • Participate in a short preparatory orientation covering psychological safety, inclusive learning principles, and collaboration guidelines. • Engage in sprint-based collaboration and iterative refinement. • Contribute to knowledge documentation to ensure sustainability and potential replication.
