Title of Assignment:    FIT-KREDU Project Assistant

Name of unit/sector:     Management, Strategic Planning and Coordination (Funds-in-Trust Korea FIT-KREDU), WIPO Academy

Place of Assignment:    Geneva, Switzerland 
    
Expected duration of assignment:    March 15 to September 30, 2026

1.    Objective of the assignment

The WIPO Academy administers Funds-in-Trust for Intellectual Property Education on behalf of the Republic of Korea (FIT-KREDU).  The financial year starts annually on July 1 and ends on June 30.  In June/July each year an evaluation and planning meeting is held with officials from the Republic of Korea (ROK) to decide on the projects which would be organized and financed for the forthcoming year.

Deliverables and services of the contractor are detailed as follows:

2.    Deliverables/services

(a)    Manage and implement the recurrent training courses of FIT-KREDU, such as Patent/Trademark/Design Examination courses, Joint Master’s program, AICC, Leadership Course, etc., collaborating with the relevant WIPO Academy section(s);
(b)    Support the development and implementation of FIT-KREDU’s pilot project(s) under the supervision of the Director-Advisor;
(c)    Coordinate with colleagues in partner organization(s) to ensure successful implementation of jointly organized training courses;
(d)    Provide operational support to course speakers and participants enrolled in the FIT-KREDU online and in-person courses;
(e)    Support FIT-KREDU by collecting and analyzing survey data and producing relevant statistics, reports, and data summaries;
(f)    Maintain the email engagement with participants and facilitate the training courses throughout FIT-KREDU;
(g)    Assist managers in preparing memoranda and cost estimates in line with the annual FIT-KREDU budget;  

3.    Reporting

At the end of each month, the contractor shall provide a status report on FIT-KREDU activities to the WIPO Academy staff administering FIT-KREDU.

4.    Profile (e.g. area of specialization/expertise, specific knowledge/skills/experience)

Language skills (written and spoken):
•     Excellent knowledge of English (required);
•     Working knowledge of Korean (desirable);

Specific experience:
•     Experience in project management.

•     Experience in organizing in-person and/or online training courses or educational projects, or related learning activities, or in education more broadly.

•     Experience navigating and interacting with public institutions in the Republic of Korea.

•     Experience working in an international organization.

•     Experience administering projects or programs within an organization.

•     Experience in field operations in developing countries.

Skills:
•     Broad understanding of IP

•     Highly developed problem-solving and multi-tasking skills.

•     Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a multilingual and multicultural team

•     High level of organizational skills with the ability to work within strict time limits and prioritize tasks to meet competing deadlines.

•     High degree of flexibility to adapt to varying levels of work volume.

•     Ability to work within the applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

•     Confident user of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and the Internet, with the ability to quickly adapt to new software and learn and use online systems.

5.    Duration of contract and payment

The contract period shall run from March 15 to September 30, 2026. The contract may be renewed based on performance, organizational needs, and budget availability.

Applicants are requested to provide an indication of their remuneration expectations as a daily rate in Swiss francs (CHF).

6. Other information

ICS Consultants fall outside the coverage of employment contracts for WIPO Staff members and are not subject to the WIPO Staff Regulations and Rules. The Consultant has no entitlement to vacation or sick leave, except for WIPO official holidays, or to medical insurance or staff pension. Absences from work will be unpaid.
