Background Information
Interns will benefit from training, exposure to procurement (ERP) systems, governing principles, strategy and opportunities that support professional growth and potential future employment in the field of procurement.
Task 1:
Planning: Assist in providing support to Missions and Offices worldwide, in coordination with relevant stakeholders for both regular and emergency related requests.
Task 2:
Procurement and Logistics: In accordance with organization’s procurement procedures and policies, prepare and issue solicitation in Oracle ERP system using the appropriate solicitation method based on the established procurement strategy ensuring transparency, integrity, fair competition, and value for money.
Coordinate logistics of goods and services as per the assigned tasks while maintaining relevant internal databases and files; keep track of any contractual agreements and inform affected users of contractual rights and obligations
Task 3:
Payment: Provide admin support is timely processing of payment through the issuance of invoice requests for payment though Invoice Submission Tool (IST).In coordination with MSCU NFI/ medical procurement colleagues, field missions, vendors,
Task 4:
Contract Management: Provide admin support and participate in the establishment of global Long-Term Agreements (LTA) in coordination with relevant stakeholders and monitor adherence to contractual agreements, recommend amendments and extensions of contracts, and advise concerned parties on contractual rights and obligations.

For this internship, Fluency in English, both written and oral.

Depending on experience and location, interns are granted a small monthly stipend to help offset costs. Interns benefiting from an internship allowance or scholarship granted by their university or other sponsoring body that includes financial remuneration or credits for coursework will not be eligible for the stipend.
IOM covers Interns against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan (CP), free of charge, for the duration of the internship. IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses. Interns are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work.
