Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Chief of the Trade Facilitation Section, Trade Logistics Branch, Division on Technology and Logistics, the consultant will undertake the following activities, in the scope of two different projects: 1) Accelerate Trade Facilitation Programme: 1.1) Assist Egypt in the process of mapping and simplifying trade procedures by: The consultant will participate in the development and evaluation of the project, organize and facilitate workshops, analyze the information gathered on trade procedures from different sources and provide substantive support to consultative meetings, draft background papers and reports. In particular, she/he will be entrusted with the following tasks: - Make a thorough mapping and analysis of the information on the trade related procedures documented in the Egypt TIP. - Organize meetings and work sessions for the TIP Project Information Team, NTFC members and/or other key stakeholders; - Provide support to local TIP team on digitalizing documents and on TIP management. - Conduct training to national institutions on the use of the Egypt TIP and namely to promote the use of the TIP and to identify simplification opportunities; - Contribute to the simplification of 10 to 15 mapped documents, and prepare a presentation with the results to the NTFC; - Keep the procedures in the Egypt TIP up to date by regularly verifying the information with each agency in charge. 1.2) Contribute to the preparations of the Course "Intensive Communication for NTFCs" targeting Secretariats of National Trade Facilitation Committees of beneficiary countries of the Accelerate Trade Facilitation Programme (approx 4 countries). The event is scheduled to happen back to back to the Global Supply Chain Forum 2026 in Saudi Arabia. More concretely, the consultant will: • Deliver, together with other colleagues of the Section, the e-learning course on Communication for National Trade Facilitation Committees (NTFCs) - Research on best practices in communication for National Trade Facilitation Committees - Program the content of the course modules on the UNCTAD’ s Trade Facilitation e-learning platform (uploading videos, creating learning units, programmings quizzes, exams, final assignments, translate and programme final evaluation survey) - Conduct Customer relationship duties related to UNCTAD Trade Facilitation E-learning platform for the course (respond to queries from e-learning participants, enroll participants into the courses, using the selected Learning Managing System (LMS) Learnworlds) - Organize the logistics regarding the event (preparing web announcements, preparing presentations, following up on students' progress)
Qualifications/special skills
Advanced university degree, Master, in trade related issues, design, communications, business administration, or related area, is required. At least 2 years of relevant experience in capacity building, communication, organizing webinars, workshops, or similar event, is required. Work experience using the Learnworlds learning management system is desired. Knowledge of trade facilitation is desired. Specific proven experience using the Trade Information Portal system of UNCTAD is desired.
Languages
Fluency written and oral in Arabic and English is required. Knowledge of French and Spanish is desirable.
