Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Communications Coordinator to join our Palestine team.

This is a hybrid position, based in Amman, Jordan.

The role is a two-month fixed-term international position, starting March 1, 2026 with possibility of extension.

About the Opportunity

You will be leading on the production of external communications across Relief International’s Palestine program, which operates in one of the world’s most complex and politically sensitive humanitarian environments.

As Communications Coordinator, you will design, drive, and oversee the delivery of a comprehensive Communication Strategy that advances RI’s humanitarian goals and amplifies the voices and needs of conflict-affected Palestinians.

This role is a unique bridge between programmatic evidence and strategic influence— translating operational realities into powerful communication products that drive awareness and funding. You will support and guide internal and external communications and engage directly with relevant stakeholders to elevate RI’s visibility and impact.


Your Responsibilities

This role includes the following responsibilities.

Media and Risk Management

  • Coordinate with HQ Communication Team on media engagements and branding.
  • Develop and manage country-level external communications guidelines and protocols.
  • In coordination with the Country Director, lead on the development of a comprehensive communication strategy for RI’s work in Palestine.
  • Lead the coordination between the field team and the contracted media companies for the identification and production of high quality communications products.
  • Regularly assess reputational and operational risk linked to communication products.

Capacity Building and Leadership

  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to staff involved in communications work.
  • Oversee content development including case studies, visibility products, and campaign materials.
  • Ensure quality assurance and strategic relevance of all communication outputs.

Management and Leadership

  • Monitor team performance, deliver feedback and build capacity as needed.
  • Promote a collaborative and accountable team culture aligned with RI values.


About You

You will bring the following experience and skills.

  • Advanced degree in Political Science, Journalism, International Development, Law, or related field.
  • Substantial experience in communications, with particular importance given to previous work within humanitarian settings.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills; ability to produce strategic communication products.
  • Good understanding of the Palestinian humanitarian context.
  • Strong interpersonal, coordination, and relationship-building skills.
