| QUALIFICATIONS | ||
| Education PhD (or equivalent advanced university degree) in applied meteorology, Climate services for renewable energy, environmental sciences, or a closely related discipline. | ||
| Experience - A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in climate information, science, and services applied to the energy sector and the water-energy-food-ecosystem nexus. - Demonstrated experience in conducting strategic and technical studies on climate services and climate-informed decision-support systems for the energy sector and WEFE nexus, including literature reviews, gap analyses, roadmap development, and the preparation of technical reports and scientific publications. - Proven experience working with National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs) on climate services for sectoral applications, particularly in the energy sector and in South America. | ||
| Other requirements Knowledge and Skills - In-depth technical knowledge of open-source tools and codes for climate data analysis and service development, with demonstrated ability to design modular, scalable and reproducible workflows for weather and climate services for sectoral applications, particularly energy services. - In-depth knowledge of WMO tools and services related to weather, water and climate information and services, including the WMO Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS). - Proven ability to synthesize complex technical information into clear technical reports, conceptual frameworks and implementation roadmaps for diverse technical and non-technical audiences. | ||
| Languages Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills of English and Spanish. Knowledge of other official languages of WMO would be an advantage. (Note: The official languages of the Organization are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.) |
