Duties and Responsibilities
Established in 1964, the International Trade Centre (ITC) is the joint agency of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations. ITC is a development agency that is fully dedicated to supporting the internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). ITC's mission is to foster inclusive and sustainable economic development and contribute to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. ITC's work is about 'transforming trade, changing lives'. The Communications and Events (CE) section of the International Trade Centre manages digital communications, including social media and website outputs, on behalf of the organization. The social media team is seeking a junior consultant to assist with related communication tasks. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES The individual contractor will work under the supervision of the Associate Public Information Officer and the overall guidance of the Senior Strategic Communications Officer. • Produce content (text, photos, illustrations and videos) for ITC corporate accounts, namely LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, including on the themes of women's economic empowerment, digital connectivity and access to finance. • Co-create and implement campaigns, including on the ongoing WEIDE initiative and on financing for SMEs, to raise awareness of ITC and its mandate through social media, website and other communications channels. • Collect key metrics on the growth of corporate and the Executive Director’s social media accounts, and the website, and prepare monthly reports. • Make concrete proposals for increasing and improving social media engagement of corporate and the Executive Director’s social media accounts, and the website, including by monitoring trends and latest tools/tech/templates/formats. • Work closely with the web team to support on public information and promotion services as needed, in line with the ITC style guide and other corporate communications guidelines. Copyright Clause: The individual contractor has to ensure that she has obtained the necessary permissions with regard to intellectual property rights required to perform her services under this contract and for the subsequent dissemination by ITC in any form. Documentary proof is to be submitted to ITC. Should any license fee be due for the use of copyrighted materials of third parties, the individual contractor shall request the prior written permission from ITC. Qualifications/special skills
High school diploma • Minimum 2 years of experience in the creation and production of social media content for use on platforms including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram. • Experience in photography and videography as well as post-production editing. • Experience in social media management, publishing and reporting/monitoring tools.
Languages
Advanced written and spoken English and Spanish; French and/or another UN language are desirable.
