Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Communications Officer, the intern will be integrated into the Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) in El Salvador, contributing to strategic multimedia and social media communications. This internship is designed to provide a formative and immersive experience, offering the intern a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of the United Nations system and its collaborative work with various agencies and stakeholders. The intern will support the following areas of work: • Designing creative ideas to communicate key topics through multimedia materials. • Developing script proposals and production plans for multimedia content. • Producing and post-producing multimedia materials for various channels. • Supporting the identification of strategies to increase engagement across social media platforms. • Scheduling social media posts aligned with key topics. • Collecting metrics and evaluating the performance of social media campaigns. Through these tasks, the intern will strengthen their analytical, organizational, and communication skills, while gaining practical experience in the UN’s integrated programming and partnership-building approaches. The internship in the RCO El Salvador will last 6 month max, depending on the needs of the Office. Candidates may be selected throughout the posting period, on an "as-needed" basis. Under the supervision or overall guidance of the Communications Officer.
Qualifications/special skills
To be enrolled in an undergraduated or graduate programme • Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. • Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s . • Good command of standard software applications, particularly MS Excel and PowerPoint. • Ability to draft basic concept notes and contribute to documentation and knowledge products. • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s . Good command of standard software applications, particularly MS Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to draft news articles and/or social media posts in desirable.
Languages
Fluent in Spanish requirements, English and advantage.
