About the Role
This role provides the opportunity to work closely with the Policy and Strategy (DPS) team and contribute to the Bank’s analytical and research activities. You will support the development and maintenance of macroeconomic and institutional databases and assist in research on the Black Sea Region and comparator economies. The position offers hands on exposure to the daily operations of a multilateral development bank, allowing you to deepen your understanding of regional economic trends, development finance, and data driven policy analysis. Through interaction with DPS staff and participation in relevant events, you will gain practical experience in a dynamic, international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining macroeconomic datasets for BSTDB Member Countries, helping ensure the structure supports both country level and regional analysis.
- Support the updating and expansion of a comprehensive database of selected multilateral development banks (2000–2025), contributing to the compilation of key financial and performance indicators for clear comparison and cumulative or partial data presentation.
- Assist in conducting targeted research on topics such as GDP composition, trade structures, and other areas relevant to the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) Region and comparator Central European and Baltic States.
- Provide support for additional research initiatives based on departmental needs.
- Engage with DPS staff in daily activities and participate in relevant events to gain exposure to the operations and processes of a development bank.
Applicants should:
- Be students or hold an undergraduate degree.
- Demonstrate fluency in English, with strong research and writing abilities.
- Show interest in the Black Sea Region and related economic or development topics.
- Possess strong MS Excel skills and familiarity with standard computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of database software is an asset, and programming experience is helpful but not required.
- Have a basic understanding of finance and economics; considered an advantage but not essential.
