Job Description

Position:    Procurement Officer      

Contract:        3-year renewable contract                                    Location:  Ibadan

Closing Date: 5 January 2026

DUTIES: 

Managing Supplier and Vendor Relations

·       Negotiate with selected suppliers and obtain quotations for procurement.

·       Coordinate site visits with contractors and end-users to gather necessary information for quotations.

·       Maintain close contact with suppliers for up-to-date market and product information.

·       Identify and select reliable suppliers for daily food and beverage purchases based on regular quotations.

·       Participate in food tasting panels for vendor selection and product evaluation.

·       Prepare and negotiate contracts with selected suppliers.

·       Attend exhibitions and seminars to source new suppliers and better price-performance products.

·       Work with suppliers to negotiate rebate programs.

Managing Procurement Activities

·       Verify and authorize procurement orders.

·       Place orders and expedite deliveries.

·       Prepare tender invitations, execute tender openings, and compare tenders for procurement decisions.

·       Work closely with the Chef and Food & Beverage team to source products for their day to day operations.

·       Source alternative products that offer competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards and services.

·       Prepare and submit monthly cost-saving reports to the Head of HOSTRAS.

·       Explore opportunities for green procurement and participate in recycling programs.

·       Provide suggestions to other departments for cost savings without compromising their requirements

Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION:

BSC/HND in Procurement, Purchasing and Supply, Business Administration or any other related course. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience performing similar role in a well-structured environment.

Professional certification is an added advantage.

COMPETENCIES:

The ideal candidate must:

  • Be Familiar with procurement software, POS systems.
  • Be knowledgeable in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting for procurement activities.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in analyzing supplier proposals, market trends, and procurement data to support informed purchasing decisions.
  • Be familiar with Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
