The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has an abundance of information about human mobility: With offices in almost every country, IOM is trusted by its Member States for its deep knowledge and field expertise. IOM has strategic partnerships with other UN agencies and stakeholders in the UN Migration Network. It works directly with a wide range of beneficiaries and is at the forefront of data protection efforts within the UN system.
The Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) Regional Evidence for Migration Analysis and Policy (REMAP) project was developed in response to the critical need to collect and analyze information on (protracted) displacement and human mobility in, to and from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan and to contribute to evidence-based humanitarian and development programming in these countries and in the region.
Working under the overall supervision of the Global DTM Coordinator and the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Manager of DTM REMAP project based in Berlin, Germany the intern will support the concern unit for smooth implementation of ongoing work.

IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish. All staff members are required to be fluent in one of the the three languages.
For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Russian, and Uzbek languages, and/or another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, and Spanish) is an advantage.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments

In general, the Internship Programme aims at attracting talented students and graduates who:
a) have a specific interest in, or whose studies have covered, areas relevant to IOM programmes and activities;
b) are holding a scholarship for internship placements in international organizations and/or for whom internship is required to complete their studies; or
c) are sponsored by governmental/non governmental institutions and/or academia to work in specific areas relevant to both IOM and the sponsor.
d) are either enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent) or have graduated in the last 12 months.
e) are between 20 and 36 years of age.
