On 29 May 1948, the United Nations Security Council, in its resolution 50 (1948) called for a cessation of hostilities in Palestine and established the first peacekeeping mission headed by a UN Mediator with the assistance of a group of military observers to be known as the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO). UNTSO is mandated to observe and maintain the unconditional ceasefires and assist the parties to the 1949 Armistice Agreements in the supervision of the application and observance of the terms of those Agreements. UNTSO's mandate covers five countries, including Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, and the Syrian Arab Republic. This position is located in the Movement Control Unit under Supply Chain Management Unit of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO) in Jerusalem. The incumbent reports to the Supply Officer (Supervisor, Centralized Warehouse Unit).
Responsibilities
Under the overall direction of the Chief Supply Chain Management Officer and the direct supervision of the Supervisor, Central Warehouse Unit, the incumbent will be responsible but not limited to the following duties: • Assists in arranging the movement of inbound and outbound cargo via all applicable modes of transport (air, sea, road and rail), and monitors delivery of cargo and communicate shipping details to all concerned parties. • Completes cargo manifests and prepares customs clearance and related other documentation. • Ensures cargo (including Dangerous Cargo) is packed and handled in accordance with International regulations. • Prepares the movement of inbound and outbound passengers on UN mission aircraft or commercial aircraft chartered by the UN on a short term basis and assists all passengers in clearing customs and immigration. • Prepares and processes weekly/monthly attendance records, MOPs, CMRs, supply request and other documentation as required. • Provides physical manpower support during loading unloading delivery and Physical Verification • Assist in receiving, inspection and put-away of all incoming items to appropriate warehouse Bin location. • Ensure newly received items are labelled and properly arranged in the storage shelves/bins, and correctly entered the system. • Assists in conducting physical inspections United Nations Property and cycle count of inventories (consumable/expendable property) in accordance with Centralised Warehousing Operations Manual. • Receives authorized on-line requisitions for goods and services; verifies requisitions in accordance with sections’/units’ monthly requirements. • Monitors stock of supplies in the stores; conducts regular stock taking of expendable items in the supply stores; informs the supervisor on discrepancies observed and on supplies which require stock replenishment in a timely manner. • Assist in warehouse operations and ensure warehouse and all storage facilities neat and tidy ensuring shelves are free from cobwebs and dust. Sort and file all paperwork such as goods receipt slips, Issue slips, Hand over/ Take over vouchers and other warehouse documents in their appropriate folders. • Operates material handling equipment (MHE) and other specialized equipment such as forklifts, trolley’s and pallet lifters; • Prepares, processes and follows-up on administrative arrangements with respect to staff official travel. • Maintains Unit files as required (both in hard and soft copies), administrative instruction and other related documentation. • Working at the office. Driving or walking to other offices within the compound, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb to perform work. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds and heavier weights. The incumbent is exposed to moderate hazards when working at the warehouse. • Performs other duties as and when required by the supervisor.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional technical/vocational qualifications in logistics, warehousing and/or transportation are desirable.
Job - Specific Qualification
• A valid driver’s license type B and C1 for Israel is required (attach a copy of your license). The incumbent must be qualified and licensed to operate light/medium vehicles, including mechanical handling equipment. Technical/vocational qualifications in logistics, warehousing and/or transportation are desirable.
Work Experience
• At least three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in movement operations acquired through commercial air/sea/road/rail operations, commercial freight forwarding, warehousing, supply chain management, military logistics or civilian logistics working environments is required • Experience dealing with National authorities or customs authorities is desirable. • Experience in an international organization such as the United Nations is desirable. • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and inventory control systems is desirable. • Experience in the use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as Umoja, SAP or equivalent, is required. • 2 years of experience operating material handling equipment is desirable.
