Duties and Responsibilities
Background: The UN Secretary-General's Development System reform, launched on 1 January 2019 in response to General Assembly resolution 71/243, repositions the UN Development System to deliver on the 2030 Agenda for dignity, prosperity and peace on a healthy planet. Central to this process, and as further mandated by General Assembly resolution 72/279, a new generation of UN Resident Coordinator Offices across the world are being strengthened under the leadership of an empowered UN Resident Coordinator, the highest-ranking representative of the UN Development System at country level. To effectively support the communications and advocacy work of UN Country Team, the RC Office seeks to employ one videographer and one digital photographer to create video and photos which will provide social media assets for use by the UN Resident Coordinator, UNCT members, and for the 2025 annual report. Duties and Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Head of RC Office, and in coordination with the Communication and Digital Media Advisor, the photographer and videographer will provide photos/videos from: 1. UN Day events 2. UN Tourism Conference 3. UNIDO General conference 4. Annual Country Results Report assets 5. High Level visits 6. Cooperation Framework assets 7. Future Minerals Forum The photographer will deliver a minimum of 10 high resolution photographs per event. The videographer will deliver a minimum of 10 video clips per event.
Qualifications/special skills
A High School diploma is required. All candidates must submit a copy of the required educational degree. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. A minimum of 3 years of professional work experience in photography or videography is required.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; and Arabic is a working language of ESCWA. For this position, fluency in Arabic is required. Knowledge of English is desirable. Note: “Fluency” equals a rating of ‘fluent’ in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and “Knowledge of” equals a rating of ‘confident’ in two of the four areas.
