The main objective of this consultancy is to develop National Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM) clinical protocol and Breastfeeding Counselling Manual. Linking the development of the clinical protocol and breastfeeding counselling manual will help to cross reference in the implementation of relevant interventions. This task involves synthesizing global guidance and recommendations, consult local expertise and best practices. The consultant will develop clinical protocol based on WHO clinical protocol for inpatient management of severe wasting and review and contextualize the IYCF Counselling manual of WHO.

Education:
Master’s - MD in Paediatrics, Master in Public Health or Master in Nutrition.
Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:
A minimum of eight years of professional experience in child health and nutrition field, specifically providing technical support on Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition programmes/Inpatient Management of Severe Acute Malnutrition and promotion of breastfeeding.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract.
