Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations.
DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 800 staff in Ukraine and implements emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.
DRC is currently looking for a Quality Assurance/Quality Control Officer for Non-Technical Survey and Explosive Ordnance Risk Education in Kyiv.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
Considering the specifics of work in the field of Humanitarian Mine Action, specifically NTS and EORE, the general rules, methods and technologies by which HMA is conducted out are described in detail in the SOP, according to which the QO must:
- Conduct monitoring visits to the NTS/EORE field teams
- To raise technical reports on these visits and to debrief
- To conduct QA/QC monitoring visits on all technical training of the NTS/EORE teams including the final training report.
- Participate in the planning of NTS/EORE staff as part of the projects annual training plan under the supervision of the QM
- Participate in the monthly Quality Management meetings
- Submit a report on the findings from visits to bases with a view to identifying current trends and requirements.
- Participate in training as instructed by the QM and OM unit.
- Carry out other tasks as dictated by changing circumstances or as required by the QM.
- Adhere to DRC Code of Conduct.
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have minimum 2 years of experience in a humanitarian organization, with experience designing and conducting Quality Management of EORE and NTS/HMA. Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required
- Secondary Education and Vocational Education or Secondary Education and Professional training in a relevant organization.
- Physical and mental endurance with a desire to engage in physically demanding environments.
- Willingness to work away from home for periods of time.
- Completion of relevant Quality and security training.
- First aid skills.
- Previous work experience as a team member.
- Excellent discipline and ability to follow direct instructions.
Desirable
- Preferable to have successfully passed the DRC combined NTS/EORE course.
- Certificates of DRC and/or others NGOs in Manual Demining in Mine Action (MMC).
- Certificates of DRC and/or others NGOs in Battle Area Clearance in Mine Action (BAC).
- Driving license and experience of driving.
- Knowledge of conversational English language.
