Duties and Responsibilities
The intern will perform tasks related to IT development initiatives, where we have C#/.NET applications, Sharepoint-based applications, Azure DevOps/ Azure Data Cloud services and automation, Microsoft Power Platform apps, CRM (Jira Service Management) portal to develop and complement with REST/back-end calls, several databases to support and/or migrate and AI models. These applications support OHCHR’s external work in promoting and protecting human rights worldwide, while also streamlining internal processes to help the Organization achieve its mission more effectively. The above list includes IT skills relevant to the diverse projects our section supports. Candidates are expected to possess some of these skills, though not necessarily all. Duties and Responsibilities • Assist in developing and customizing applications using C# / ASP.NET / .NET stack / HTML /Javascript / React / Node.js, Telerik Kendo UI libraries. • Assist in developing and customizing applications using Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI. • Design, support, migrate databases (MS SQL). • Analyzing requirements and designing diverse automation solutions (sometimes innovative or ad-hoc) to streamline workflows and improve productivity. • Explore options and offer possibilities to enhance and streamline the development using Azure DevOps crossorigin="anonymous">
Qualifications/special skills
Licenses & Certificates: Licenses and certificates are not mandatory, but would be an asset to a candidate. Competency: Proven knowledge of Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, MS Azure Cloud Services, ASP.Net, MVC with C# programming language and SQL server experience with related development environments. • Skills in programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, PowerShell) are an asset. • Experience in database management, process automation, and application development. Skills: Proven knowledge of any of the technologies below and/or their combination: • C#/.NET applications, MVC, ASP.NET, HTML, Javascript • React, Node.js, Javascript, Python • REST WEB-API calls experience • Sharepoint-based applications, Sharepoint lists • MS SQL DB development and ETL operations • Azure DevOps/ Azure Data Cloud services and automation, • Microsoft Power Platform apps - Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, • CRM customization and service management skills and/or experience, knowledge of Atlassian suite is an asset • AI models development. Academic Qualifications: To qualify for the United Nations Secretariat internship program applicants must, at the time of their submission, be enrolled in the final academic year of a first-level university degree program (i.e. Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree); be enrolled in a graduate school program (i.e. Master's degree or equivalent degree, or higher) or have completed an aforementioned academic degree, preferably in the area of: • Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
