Comprised of a diverse, multi-skilled group of logisticians, the Logistics Cluster, led by WFP, is mandated by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) to complement and co-ordinate the logistics capabilities of co-operating humanitarian agencies during large-scale complex emergencies and natural disasters.
In order to support the response to the Gaza Crisis, the Logistics Cluster was formally activated for Palestine on the 16th October 2023, with five coordination and operation cells established to support the response inside Gaza as well as the various supply corridors.
The incumbent is the main interlocutor for all stakeholders and partners in Jordan, providing leadership, and ensuring that coordination systems, information platforms and operational services are established and maintained at all levels in the country. The incumbent ensures relevant information is collected and shared, and that efficient and adequate operations are set up in support of the humanitarian partners. These include the provision of various logistics services Amman as required. The function reports to the Palestine Cluster Coordinator.

Language: Fluency (level C) in English language. Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and/or WFP’s working language. |
Related tasks as may be requested by the supervisor are undertaken
Essential: Understanding of the international humanitarian response architecture, including co-ordination mechanisms, Humanitarian Reform and humanitarian action, and international emergency response funding mechanisms. Experience of high-level coordination, including serving as the chair of a multi-lateral working group (i.e. any output-oriented group of independent stakeholders); an ability to work within a diverse group, build/develop consensus and deliver on joint outputs. Partnership and service mindset, integrity, result oriented, proactive engagement, gender and culturally sensitive. Demonstrated ability to work productively in remote and high-pressure environments, to motivate a team, maintain morale and deliver on objectives in difficult circumstances. |
