**LOCATION : Any LAC - WWF US Country Office

Major Function

World Wildlife Fund (WWF) one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, seeks a Strategy and Monitoring Officer to support in several operational areas of integrated strategic planning and monitoring and transformational initiatives and other supporting operational strategic tasks. As part of the Country Office Unit and LAC Secretariat (COU/ LAC) this position will support the development, implementation and improvement of a variety of knowledge management and internal communication initiatives and activities.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the COU LAC Conservation Strategy and Impact Director, the Strategy and Monitoring Officer will have the following responsibilities.

  • In coordination with the Conservation Strategy and Impact Director, design, refine and systematize tools and processes to strengthen conservation and program strategies and increase regional synergies and leverage.
  • Co-manages, in coordination with the Conservation Strategy and Impact Director, the design and roll out of a conservation dashboard for impact monitoring and other potential related-tools.
  • Manages the COU integrated strategic plan database by collecting data, updating, developing periodic analysis and generate reports with recommendations.
  • Map, assess and provide recommendations on quality, coherence and contribution of Country Offices Integrated Strategic Plans and Transformational Initiatives strategies and monitoring plans.
  • Manages the Transformational Initiative portfolio database and pipeline by collecting (hard and spatial) data, updating, developing periodic analysis and reports, and supporting the design of informative / communicational materials.
  • Track and map emerging conservation opportunities identifying synergies or gaps with the current portfolio of WWF regional and national strategies.
  • In coordination with the Conservation Strategy and Impact Director, support capacity building efforts on Transformational Initiatives (TI), strategic planning and monitoring, OD, and adaptive management related to the Journey Towards Excellence Framework.
  • In coordination with the Conservation Strategy and Impact Director, supports the regular transformational Initiatives peer review process and fostering a more systematic approach to learning and sharing.
  • Systematize minutes, and coordinate the agendas of follow up meetings of the COU Journey Towards Excellence Strategy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Natural or social sciences, development studies, economics or in a relevant field.
  • Preferable a post graduate degree in in a conservation-related field related to the position that may include natural sciences, natural resource management, conservation planning, international development, or other.
  • Minimum 4 to 6 years of professional experience with significant demonstrated capacity in strategic planning and monitoring, data management, processing and analysis.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience on facilitation of planning, monitoring and learning processes.

Skills and Abilities

  • Background in PMEL (planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning), and data management is essential and experience in the conservation sector is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent research and analytical skills including analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Ability to operate with independence, under pressure, and to meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Excellent project management, data management and analytics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other project and data management software (e.g., sharepoint, excel, Miradi, and/ or other database management software; GIS tools, preferable).
  • Ability to work in multi-lingual and cross-cultural settings.
  • Excellent facilitation skills and ability to motivate teams.
  • Preference given to candidates who are bilingual (oral and written) in English and Spanish.

LOCATION : Candidate MUST be located in any LAC WWF US Country Office (Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala / Belize/Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru).
