No. ECMWF sets grade C3 separately for each duty station. Across the 2 duty stations shown on this page the figures run from EUR 3,063 to EUR 5,354 a month.
The figures on this page are quoted basic, net of tax, per month, in EUR.
These figures come from the ECMWF scale for effective 1 January 2026, as published by ECMWF. We last read that source and confirmed these figures on 20 August 2026.
Steps are earned by time served, not negotiated — a year per step at the bottom of the grade and two years per step higher up, so the top step shown is a destination rather than an offer. ECMWF pays no figure for countries it does not operate in, and there are only these three.
ECMWF is one of the six Co-ordinated Organisations, which adjust pay by a shared method rather than a shared scale — so grade C3 here has no counterpart at another of the six. How Co-ordinated Organisation pay works.
This is not a UN common-system salary. ECMWF sets its own pay, so there is no post adjustment and no ICSC scale behind this grade — it cannot be compared with a P-4 or a GS-6 without accounting for the difference in basis.
