War Child Alliance (War Child)

War Child is an international non-governmental organization dedicated to improving the wellbeing of children affected by armed conflict, through mental health and psychosocial support, education and child protection. Since 2024 its programmes have been managed by the War Child Alliance, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, which also links fundraising members in Europe and the United States. War Child Holland was founded in 1995.

Vacancies are published on the War Child Alliance careers page. Positions are based in Amsterdam, in the UK and in country offices in Afghanistan, Central African Republic, Colombia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Jordan, Lebanon, the occupied Palestinian territory, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Uganda, Ukraine and Yemen. Contracts include permanent, fixed-term and consultancy positions; preference is given to applicants who live in the country of the post and hold a valid work permit.

War Child staff design and deliver psychosocial support, education and child protection programmes for children affected by conflict, including interventions developed in-house such as TeamUp, and work in research, advocacy, fundraising, logistics and operations. Roles are based at the Amsterdam headquarters and in country offices across the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Afghanistan and Ukraine.
